Advancing the Geospatial Community

Partnership Intermediary Agreement (PIA)

Strengthing NGA’s geospatial initiatives with T-REX as NGA’s intermediary partner

What is a PIA?

A PIA is a formal partnership that enables a federal agency to more effectively connect with startups, small businesses, nonprofits, universities, industry, and other organizations that can benefit from or contribute to federally developed technologies and capabilities.

 NGA Collaboration Through Our PIA

In 2022, the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) entered into a Partnership Intermediary Agreement (PIA) with T-REX to advance technology transfer and strengthen the geospatial ecosystem.

Through its PIA with NGA, T-REX serves as a bridge between the agency and regional and national partners, supporting mission objectives related to technology transfer, rapid capabilities, innovation, commercialization, and workforce development. The partnership also helps create opportunities for industry and academia to engage with government and support the development and adoption of new technologies.

Each year, T-REX and NGA collaborate on events, programs, and other initiatives designed to advance these objectives and foster greater connection and growth across the geospatial community.

Programming T-REX develops and supports for NGA includes:

Programming for small businesses seeking federal contracts
